Becoming a Member

We envision the Collaborative to be something that draws singers together, and gives a sense of community and connection among us, as well as to share our art with the Rochester community at large. We want to get to know you and to help connect you to others who share the love of singing. To that end, and in an effort to shore up our future ability to bring in top-notch workshop and master class presenters, maintain a useful website and other networking and performance opportunities, we invite you (or individuals in your group) to become a member. We have striven to create a membership package that will be truly worth your while - to give you a bang for your buck as well as to support our organizational goals.

We are a tax-exempt, not-for-profit, member-based organization, which enables us to do two important things: apply for grants to support the mission and activities of the Collaborative - and provide tax-deductible receipts for membership fees and charitable donations. Your membership, and any additional contributions, help to forward our effort to become a valuable artistic resource to the Rochester community, and are sincerely appreciated.

How Can You Join?

To join we need a completed application and membership dues for the first year. Please click the "Membership Form" tab on the left for the form, print it out, and send in together with a check payable to Rochester Vocal Arts Collaborative. Email any questions to membership @ rochestervocalarts.org or call our Membership Coordinator, Allyn Van Dusen, at 325-2935.

The annual membership fee is $25.00 and entitles you to many wonderful benefits!

The Collaborative is a tax-exempt trust, making your contributions to the organization tax-deductible.

Why Become a Member?

The purpose for establishing a membership base is to pay (in part) the worthwhile costs of presenter, accompanist and rental fees, website development, scholarships, and various administrative costs. We welcome your participation in this valuable resource for all singers in our community, from beginning students to accomplished professionals. We are committed to promote healthy vocal practices and to provide high-caliber educational and performance opportunities, web-based networking resources, and notices regarding auditions and other activities of local organizations of interest to singers.

(1) utilize an online Resource Guide to connect you with other area singers, accompanists, voice teachers, chamber groups, churches, theatre groups, choruses, composers, etc.,
(2) visit an online Events Calendar to keep abreast of auditions and other singing events,
(3) post your upcoming performances,
(4) link to other websites of interest as well as link others to your own webpage if you have one,
